A seriously enjoyable sporting community with urban roots and a diverse demographic, Providence United is building infrastructure for engagement in, enjoyment of, Rhode Island and Southern Massachusetts amateur soccer league play and beyond.

PVD/UTD is an initial trial at facilitating structured, casual pick-up sessions throughout the Providence metropolitan area (which is by legal definition a very large area — almost this entire little state we call home). Early sessions will focus on locations that are closest to city centers, public transport, and the general median location of all regular attendees. Play outdoor on grass, turf, pavement (maybe, it can be good fun), and without having to pay for anything from start to finish. Except for bus fare.. whatever the gasoline will be priced on that day, the fluids and other necessities brought to game-day.

Pick-up will be held weekly with an initial host location of Deerfield Park in Smithfield, Rhode Island. Yes, yes. This is not Providence. That is — we will begin this program at a pitch that is less then seven (7) miles from the city.
